Overview
SwipeToLaunch is a launch directory for new startups, SaaS products and apps where discovery happens through Tinder-style swiping. Instead of scrolling a crowded feed and clicking upvote buttons, you see one product card at a time — screenshot, one-line pitch, category, tags, founder and current score — and swipe right if you'd use it or left if you wouldn't. Every swipe counts as exactly one vote, and a weekly leaderboard ranks products by the share of people who swiped right rather than by raw vote totals. This solves two problems at once: founders get a signal based on genuine intent instead of audience size, and visitors get a fast, low-friction way to discover what's actually worth trying.
Key Features
- Swipe deck discovery — Products are shown one card at a time. Drag the card, or use the ← and → arrow keys: right means "Launch", left means "Pass".
- One swipe, one vote — Every swipe registers a single vote with no signup wall, so participation stays high and the sample stays honest.
- Percentage-based scoring — Each product displays a score like "40% · 70 votes", plus a Launch/Pass split, so a ratio matters more than volume.
- Weekly leaderboard with countdown — The Top This Week board runs Monday to Sunday (e.g. Oct 12–18, 2026) and shows a live "Closes in…" timer.
- Category and founder decks — Browse all 21 categories (Marketing, Photo & Video, Developer Tools, Productivity, Business, Utilities and more) or flip to the Founders deck to meet the people building.
- Founder profiles — Listings link to founder pages with avatars, so you can follow a maker's output across multiple launches.
- Free or instant listing — Add your product free with the SwipeToLaunch badge on your homepage, or go live today for a $9 one-time fee. It takes a link and needs no account.
- Spotlight listings — Paid or badge-backed products can carry a gold tick, marking them as Spotlight entries on the deck and board.
Target Users
- Indie hackers and solo founders launching a side project who need early, honest validation without an existing audience.
- Bootstrapped SaaS and dev-tool teams who want a cheap ($9 one-time, or free with a badge) distribution channel on launch day.
- Early adopters and product hunters who enjoy browsing new tools and want a faster, more decisive alternative to scrolling launch feeds.
- Investors, scouts and journalists looking for a weekly, intent-weighted shortlist of what's gaining traction.
- Community builders and marketers who want to see which categories (Marketing, Photo & Video, Developer Tools) are most active and competitive.
Unique Selling Points
- Intent-weighted ranking instead of popularity contests. Because the score is the share of right swipes, a two-vote product at 100% can outrank a heavily promoted launch at 40%. That makes the board a signal of desirability, not of how big the founder's mailing list is.
- Zero-friction participation. Swiping needs no account, and submitting needs only a link — no onboarding flow, no profile setup, no verification steps before your product is in the deck.
- Free-with-badge or $9 one-time. There's no subscription tier. You either place a badge on your homepage or pay once, which is dramatically cheaper and simpler than most launch platforms' paid tiers.
- Interactive rather than passive. Discovery is a game-like, one-card-at-a-time experience, which keeps dwell time and swipe volume high — meaning more votes per listing than a static directory typically generates.
- Transparent voting mechanics. Scores, vote counts and Launch/Pass splits are shown publicly, so founders can see not just how many people voted but which way they went.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Swipe mechanics make browsing genuinely fast and fun, so listings accumulate votes quickly.
- Ratio-based scoring gives small, unknown products a realistic shot at the top of the weekly board.
- Listing is free with a badge, or a one-time $9 with no account required — very low barrier for indie makers.
- Category and founder decks, plus 21 categories, make the directory browsable rather than a single firehose.
- Public score, vote count and Launch/Pass split give founders concrete feedback, not just a rank.
- Weekly reset with a countdown creates a recurring, time-boxed reason for people to come back and vote.
Cons
- Small vote counts early in a week can make scores volatile — a handful of swipes can swing a ranking significantly.
- Swipe-based voting is shallow by design; there's no place for detailed reviews or long-form feedback on a product.
- Free listings require placing a badge on your own site, which some founders find intrusive or off-brand.
- The directory is newer and smaller than established launch platforms, so traffic volume may be limited compared with incumbents.
